Cigar Factory and Rolling Demonstration
Learn about Dominican tobacco and observe the cigar production process.
Visit a Punta Cana cigar factory and discover Dominican tobacco, rum, coffee, cacao and chocolate through guided demonstrations and tastings.
Discover four of the Dominican Republic’s most recognizable products during this
Punta Cana cigar factory tour with rum, coffee and chocolate tastings.
This approximately three-hour guided experience takes you to the Don Lucas Cigar Factory and its artisan complex, where Dominican craftsmanship, traditional flavors and convenient transportation come together in one relaxed visit.
Designed for travelers who want to experience a cultural side of Punta Cana without committing to a full-day excursion, the tour combines a cigar-making demonstration, selected tastings and time to browse locally associated products. It is suitable for cigar enthusiasts, curious first-time visitors and companions who may be more interested in coffee, cacao, chocolate or rum.
The main experience introduces you to the work behind premium Dominican cigars. During the guided factory visit, learn how tobacco leaves are selected, prepared and combined before being shaped by hand.
Watch an experienced cigar artisan demonstrate the rolling process and discover how the filler, binder and wrapper contribute to the structure and character of the finished cigar. Your guide may also explain why fermentation, aging, temperature and humidity are important when producing and storing premium tobacco.
Demonstrations and available products may vary according to daily factory operations, but the visit offers an approachable introduction to one of the Dominican Republic’s most respected crafts.
Smoking or sampling a cigar is optional. Guests who do not smoke can still enjoy the hand-rolling demonstration, learn about the production process and participate in the other scheduled presentations.
The experience extends beyond tobacco. Continue through areas dedicated to several other products closely associated with Dominican culture and agriculture.
Learn about the preparation and characteristics of Dominican coffee before enjoying a selected tasting. Explore the connection between cacao and finished chocolate, then sample available products according to the day’s program.
Adult guests may also discover selected Dominican or Caribbean rum styles during the scheduled tasting. Exact brands, samples and presentations can change according to availability. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco samples are offered exclusively to guests who meet the applicable legal-age requirements, and valid identification may be requested.
This tour is best understood as a combination of a working cigar-factory visit, guided product presentations, tastings and optional shopping. It is not a full-day tobacco plantation expedition or an intensive cigar-making class.
After the guided portions, you will have time to browse available cigars, rum, coffee, chocolate, cacao products, souvenirs and other locally associated items. All purchases are optional and are not included in the tour price.
If you are considering buying cigars or alcohol to take home, check the customs allowances of your destination country before purchasing. Regulations and permitted quantities vary between countries.
The Punta Cana cigar factory tour is a particularly good option for couples, groups of friends and travelers interested in Dominican products, craftsmanship and local flavors. Because cigar smoking is not required, members of the same group can enjoy different parts of the visit.
Transportation is included from selected Punta Cana hotels, resorts and accommodations. The exact pickup time depends on your location and the day’s transportation route, so it may be confirmed after the reservation is completed.
Provide the correct hotel name when booking, keep your WhatsApp number active and review the pickup message carefully. Guests should be waiting in the hotel lobby or designated tour pickup area at least 10 minutes before the confirmed time.
The experience generally operates in a small-group format with a maximum of approximately 15 participants. Guide languages may include English, Spanish, French and German according to the scheduled operation and availability.

Great local experience in Punta Cana
Really enjoyable visit and a nice change from the typical beach and adventure tours. Learning about the cigar-making process was very interesting, and the rum tasting added a fun local touch to the experience. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and everything felt well organized. A good option for anyone who wants to discover a little more about Dominican culture and local products during their stay in Punta Cana.
